Q: OFF THE TURNPIKE? Are you guys from Jersey?
A: Really? That's your first question? Well... no, we're not from New Jersey. No disrespect to the garden state at all - hell, considering their music pedigree, we'd be in great company at that point. OFF THE TURNPIKE is a New York city band. We could go into the twisted backstory behind our band name, but it'll kill the mystery (and it's kind of boring).

Q: How would you classify your sound?
A: We'd prefer to let our music speak for itself, so give a listen to the samples on this site (and maybe pick up a copy of our album on iTunes if you're so inclined).

Q: C'mon...
A: Ok, if we have to, then we'd say hard rock/alternative. We grew up on the sounds of bands like Alice In Chains, Nirvana, Queens of the Stone Age, Tool, etc. - so we're pushing forward in what we see as a raw and exciting new direction for rock music with a lot of reverence to the bands that came before us.

Q: How long have you guys been playing together? How'd you meet?
Believe it or not, we all met through Craigslist. To this day we're surprised that we survived the experience, and we're at least 84% certain that none of us are child molestors. The line up was completed in mid-2011.
